My First Image - Take 2

I have learnt the refinements will probably never end.

I don't know how you guys & girls keep it up...
and once again thank you for this site. The amount of knowledge to be found here is staggering.

Processing (Pixinsight) was a nightmare...it took me 2 days and I made mistakes at almost every step.

My polar alignment it turns out was way off. Might check that first next time. PHD is still revealing it's secrets.

80* 1 min. lights, 20 darks, flats & bias (BYE software).
Canon 500D
Orion EON 85mm Refractor
EQ6-R mount

Guiding:
Orion 60mm
ZWO ASI120mm
PHD software

And I thought it was going to get easier...

Vast improvement in such a short time. Nice shot. 80 minutes makes for a rich image, you've done well.

You're coming along nicely This isn't a hobby for the faint of heart

From your image above I'd say that one of your biggest and easiest image improvements would be to get the focus correct. It is off a bit at the moment, every star looking like a mini-donut

Because it looks like you're using a refractor without a flattener you do need to focus at the very centre of field. If you can get the centre of field to tiny pin point stars you'll be surprised at just how much more the image will pop out
