Thanks for that list Edosaurus_Rex.

I spent some time yesterday (27 Dec) doing some lunar observing in my backyard in the late afternoon/early evening.

Located the following:
Posidonus
Charcornac
Le Monnier
Eudoxus
Aristoleles
Montes Caucasus
Calippus
Bessel
Deseiligry
Tacquet
Menelaus
Manilius
Ross
Maclear
Arago
Ritter
Sabine
Dionysius
Burg
Hercules
Atlas

And the following landing sites: Apollo 11, Surveyor 5.

The most impressive object was Manilius, which had a lovely crescent shaped shadow within the rim of the crater.

I did some further lunar observing tonight, day 8 moon.

Visited:
Aristillus
Archimedes
Cassini (very interesting object, especially outer slopes)
Autolycus
Eratosthesnes (1/3 illuminated)
Plato (2/5 illuminated)
Rupes Recta (very well illuminated, 110km long, 280m high "wall" like feature)
Birt
Arzachel (nice features within, both peak and further small dark crater)
Alpetragius (dark and deep - no internal detil illuminated)
Lassell
Alphonsus
Ptolemaeus
Herschell

Highlight for the evening? Rupes Recta. Definitely worth a look, and with an interesting geological history.
