I’m finally selling my GSO RC8 after selling all my other astrophotography gear due to lack of use. It comes with the upgraded 2” dual speed linear Crayford focuser from Bintel as well as 3 threaded extension tubes to achieve proper back focus. It has a Losmandy D-style mounting plate on the bottom and the vixen style rail on the top for a guide scope etc. This is the new style design which includes the upgraded internal baffles to suppress internal reflections which the very first models didn’t have. The secondary mirror is factory centre marked for collimation. It comes in the original packaging which includes a custom polystyrene shell and double cardboard box.
This was the first scope I bought for myself and it has been treated accordingly. There isn’t a scratch on it. It’s essentially brand new. When not in use, it was stored in the original box and only came out when imaging. The primary mirror has very little dust on it and is still collimated.
This was my main imaging scope and has done me very well over the years. I purchased it brand new from Bintel back in 2011 when they were selling for around $1700. The price has dropped since then and you can now pick them up for around $1400.
I’m asking $700 for it. I can look at shipping but the customer will have to pay for the courier costs. Shipping will be from Baulkham Hills, Sydney. I’m more than happy to show the scope to an interested buyer if they’re going to pick it up.
