Ha Eta 10" newt

Hi all,
been waiting for the skies to improve for a week or so... bad time of the year here with lots of dust/ salt and windy conditions.
Got out in the wee hours of Sunday morning, 3am when the seeing was much improved.
Total of 36min 2 min unguided subs with Astronomik 13nm Ha filter.
Scope- home grown 10" F4 Newt. MPCC corrector.
CCD- HX916
Mount- CI700 with 4 phase 200 step motors controlled by a Bartels control box/ software.

As my website's curently been down for a week now due to my domains Registrar having problems re initialising things... a software glitch (contacting the outsourcing company that is) I've posted as an attachment.
Image reduced to 60% original.

yes excellent image. The fact that a moon was present is irrelevant to narrowband images

Thanks to Tony, Scott, Andrew, Jase, Ric and Houghy for your nice comments and checking it out
I've been going through the usual fine tuning proceedures to fix flexure issues(was my Moonlite focuser not holding the focuser tube tight enough).
Had to work at getting my weight correct for this new OTA as well.
And having relatively poor skies it has been a good time to do these things.
I'm relatively happy that I can get out to consistant 2min unguided exposures.
The first 10 exposures this night I didn't have the weight correct, the last 8 2min subs were spot on.
Always something with getting things tuned with new gear...

My website is back up again so if you want to take a peek at the full size image it is here... about 400kbs though..

Thanks again guys... hope Santa has a special pressy in the stocking for you...
.. (mmm, have a chat with the Boss, start getting her breaky in bed)

Cheers for now
Rich

Thank you Ken and Gary !!
It's great to be able to use the Ha filter on these moon lit nights.
Great to add it to the rgb's later on down the track.

Yes the weather certainly looks like it's all over the place every where Gary.
Those fires in Vico look like they're going to be burning for a while as well.

Hope things get better for you Gary!

Yep get into it Ken, keeps you imaging.

Cheers for the comments.
Rich
