Thursday afternoon I fitted out my webcam to be used with my little scope.
I had made the final adjustment, cutting a slot in the ag pipe to accomodate screw that tightens the ep, did a few test pics of the mountains across the way, and then the clouds came rolling in. So much for first light last night, and by the looks of it, it won't be used at all this weekend.
Apologies to all those in south east QLD.
Here ya go Terry. Hopefully the images will self explanatory. The first shot is of the individual components (focal reducer can be omitted though longer exposures will be needed)
See page 13 Fig 6 of the LX200 instruction manual for info on the SC Adapter. Also see page 40, 42 & 43 of the manual

Thats Fine Jeanette.......I dont have a scope anymore so it doesn't bother me......no longer do I need to look out the window and watch the weather forcast's......I am Free.
Ahh thanks Paul. The bits make sense now. I was looking through the instruction manual but I didn't exactly understand how they all fit together.
I have the SC Adaptor. I also have a ~64mm diamter, ~70mm long T Adaptor-like tube, which i haven't worked out where it would fit because the diameter is larger than any hole on the scope. Or maybe it's obvious and I'm astronomy retarded, I don't know.
Its a T20 ving, handles just about everything I want it to do at the moment except run PS7. I'd like to get a USB 2.0 port for it though I don't think its worth the expense atm.
Terry the T adapter will screw either straight onto the Focal Reducer or the SC adapter. 64mm diameter? sounds a bit strange. Mine is 50 mm inner diameter of the threaded flange (the loose bit)
Nope. This T Adaptor wouldn't screw into anything, Paul. It's just too big. It's threaded on both ends and no flange like yours. It's meant for something, I just don't know what it's for.
Sorry Jeanette. I've just realised your thread's been somewhat hijacked.
I don't think its just you Jeanette. Must be Rob down south getting his new Pentax and me getting my used 24.5mm Meade SWA about 2 weeks ago. Strangely last two weekends have been fine. Maybe the weather gods just found out

Jeanette
You can't take all the blame Jeanette. My DSC's were supposed to see first light last night too and I've just started 3 weeks of holidays so there's heaps more rain on the way
And Crash Nebula is ordering his scope tomorrow. I think we can kiss good bye to fine nights for at least a month now That's what we get I suppose for our hobby getting so popular so quick
I think I have two choices here. 1. Move to the Simpson Desert or 2. Sell both my scopes and buy some more. Any one want to buy a LX200gps 8" or a Celestron HD-102 EQ (C4R) and all my lenses, wedge, etc etc
I think the Astro Gods have been watching Striker - realising that he is due to buy something soon (because he needs something to sell!) and given us (SEQ) the clouds on suspicion
Actually we have had it pretty good in recent times....though I was particulalry looking forward to this moonless weekend - always next month
