Ngc 3576

Ideally I would like to get a full tricolour on this but not sure when it'll happen to I finally decided to process some old Ha data I took a couple of months ago one early morning. Had some tilt issues going on but I have managed to make them not too bad.

Drizzle integrated, processed and then 2x2 binned back to original resolution. Finding that drizzle integrating helps make it easier to process images, far more time consuming but it feels like I can push an image harder.

Most of the damage was done when saving as 75% quality from PI... 75% wasn't quite as close to the 75% of what I was expecting quality wise!

Still a fair bit of the season to go so I hope to get some better Ha, get some OII and SII to complete.

Gee, looking pretty good Col, excellent dynamic range. Hope you get the other filters for a colour image, you have plenty of time to grab it as you say, but even without, it looks great

Thanks Mike! I am working on a big project at the moment, 100+ hours so that's taking up all my imaging time really. Well until about 4am anyway.

Thanks Simon, just quickly redid the Liberty at full res for kicks. Went way over the top

Thanks JA, the lady won't be happy with what I've just done to her!

I opened my unedited drizzle file and cropped the Good Lady and decided to put 10 minutes into processing her alone. At first I just wanted to show the resolution around her core more but then I started going OTT and figure "What the hell, why stop!"

I give you, Liberty on Roids

Oh and a word of caution Mike, there are some wormies. Avert your eyes

Really enjoyed looking at this one, Colin. Always wondered what was beyond the rather narrow view that we get. The left hand half of the image has a Neanderthal face in profile. Below that is a magnificent smallish number "2" as an isolated feature. The top edge is rich in interesting dust features. A great choice of field nicely captured.

I am quite temped to do a large Ha mosaic of the area to see just how much Ha is in that field. Doing this would mean Ha only this year however!

I've been doing a little digging and cannot find a NGC number or anything for that little nebula region below NGC 3603. Haven't jumped over to TheSkyX yet but Google hasn't been of any help nor has Plate Solving in PixInsight. It looks like an object deserving of longer FL
