Thor's Helmet

With the stunning images of this object being put up at the moment, I'm a tad hesitant to show this amateur attempt!

RGB image with OSC QHY8 on RC8. 10 x 20 minutes. I'd like to get more data - have to wait till next new moon.

Comments/suggestions welcome. Would be useful to take them on board before I try to get and add more data.

On Astrobin here.

No need to hesitate showing images like this Paul! This is a very respectable result.

It's definitely worth getting more data - double at least.

Do also watch out for dark stellar halos creeping in during your processing though.

I'm considering going monochrome! But yes, it is nice and easy to get a quick colour pic.

I notice you've also got a Thor's pic up. An excellent image! The wider field really sets it nicely in context, and I think you have brought out the nebula against the background stars much more clearly than I've managed.
