Log in log out

G'Day,
This has only happened in the last week, first problem, when I log in I get the usual msg, then up pops "please log" in,yet when I click on forms my name is there with all the others on line, and it takes me about 4 5 attempts to reply to a post, second, when I log out my name still shows up as on line, the only way I can log out is to disconnect from the internet I have not installed any new programmes or changed anything. Anyone else having this problem and is there a solution to this ? T.I.A
P.S. Just disconnected from the web, went back on line and my name still shows up as on line,I was able to edit this msg.

I'm not quite sure what your problem is..

If you tick the "remember me" box, you will not need to login each time, and you will always show in the list of online users.

You will probably find that your browser cookies (what it a cookie) is not being updated for some reason. Try deleteing all your cookies and try login/logout again.

G'Day Mike,
I have had the problem with my pass word since joining the group,as discussed in a another thread.I'm using Firefox to post this msg,so it must be IE7 were the problem lies, however it's strange that it has only occured this last week considering I've been using IE7 since it's release.Leave it with me and I'll check it out. Thanks

G'Day Jase,
I have IE7 setup to prompt me to accept a cookie from any web site I visit,IIS is on my list to always accept a cookie, and when I go off line each day I delete all cookies, cache, etc except those cookies which I have in my "allow list" The problem seems to be with IE7 so I'm going to go through IE7 setup and see where the problem is,as Firefox does not have any problems logging in.Thanks

- Try clearing your login cookie by clicking on the link in this FAQ. It may fix the problem.
- Otherwise, I can only suggest that you clean all your cookies as descibed in that FAQ.
- Or change the IE security settings back to standard and see what happens.

G'Day Mojo,
I have already tried that still have the same problem,it really does not worry me that much,I just don't want users to think I'm on line when I'm not, if for example they send me a msg and I don't reply, they might think I'm on line and ignoring them as my name appears in "Users On line". But what does worry me is that it takes 4 to 5 attempts to sign in . Thanks

G'Day Mike,
The best way to explain it is, if whats happening to me happened to all users after they have logged off there name would still show up as being on line. But I also have the problem trying to log in,it takes about 4 5 tries to get in,even though my name shows up as being signed in. Not sure of how else to explain it.

G'Day Mike,
I've nearly fixed it the only problem I'm having now is,when I'm in a thread and click on "reply" it asks me to sign in,when I do instead of bringing me to the reply window,it brings me back to the sign in page, however if I click on "quote" in a reply it works fine,it's obviously a glitch in IE7 at least now I can sign out
