Sdm026 f4.7 14.5

For sale - beloved SDM026 f4.7 14.5inch scope.

Built 2010 by Peter Read - in excellent condition.
Check out pics on Peter Read's website.
Comes with ArgoNavis, stalk, Telrad finder, shroud, AstroSystem cover (for scope and poles), cover for scope when fully assembled.
As with all SDM scopes, this was custom built to fit in the boot of a VT Commodore, otherwise, it is a fully functional SDM scope.
No need for step ladder, maybe a milk crate for children, I'm 6 feet and scope works well with feet happily planted on the ground close to zenith.

$7300.00 includes all the following accessories:
- Pelican 1550 orange case,
- AstroSystem AstroBeam II Laser Collimator,
- Televue Paracorr Coma Corrector,
- Televue Panoptic 24mm,
- Pentax XW 10mm,
- Televue Nagler 17mm type4,
- Omega Optical NPB125 Astrofilter
- Bintel 30mm wide view eyepiece
- Bintel 15mm Wide view eyepiece
- Bintel 20 mm Wide view eyepiece
- Bintel GSO Superview 10mm eyepeice
- bunch of Bintel colour filters (never used)
- Wooden accessories case - to hold ArgoNavis stalk, Telrad and accessories for transporting (camping).
- miscellaneous(posters, books, etc)

All accessories are in mint condition.
Note: Accessories WILL NOT BE sold separately.

Reason for sale: I love astronomy, but pursuing other interest, which also requires substantial cash outlay

This is a great scope and you will not be disappointed. I've taken it to many astrocamps, (Mudgee, Lostock) and several dark sky surrounds and it has never failed to impress.

I am in mixed minds about doing this, as anyone who has owned an SDM probably knows the feeling about what these scopes are about.

Email if interested, more than happy to demonstrate set-up, use etc.
Literally takes, max 10-15mins to setup.

Location: Sydney inner west.

Can't believe you're selling this Norman!!!! You'll regret it

Norman was kind enough to invite me to his home and give me a presentation of the scope when I was thinking of buying an SDM. I loved it so much I bought a 14.5" SDM myself To the future potential buyer you won't be disappointed as this scope is an absolute gem, Norm is selling it at an extremely good price and you don't have to wait 24months for delivery of the scope, which is the lead time now for an SDM scope.

Best of luck with the sale.
