I took some exposures at an ISO of 100 with the 5DH and 300mm lens at F2.8. My mount was not well aligned so I was limited to 10 min exposures.
There were eight exposures so I averaged four pairs of two. That gave me four images. I then summed these four with Registar. This is equivalent to two exposures of 40 minutes each. Hutech LPR filter and in camera noise reduction ON (always)
This is just to show what is possible. There is a brighter version where the background is standing room only stars. But better and more data needed for that one.
Speaking of going deep... I'm would love to see what you, the 5D and that big lens of yours could pull out of the Fornax or Virgo clusters under dark skies.
