Snake bursts after gobbling gator

An unusual clash between a 6-foot (1.8m) alligator and a 13-foot (3.9m) python has left two of the deadliest predators dead in Florida's swamps. The Burmese python tried to swallow its fearsome rival whole but then exploded. The remains of the two giant reptiles were found by astonished rangers in the Everglades National Park.

Glen would you check that URL. There is no link indicated for me and pasting into the address bar brings up a 404 error.

The URL is OK, but when pasted into the URL bar comes up with a (%20) (ascii space) in the work "americas". Remove the "%20" and it works.

Seriously,
it looks more like the work of human intervention. Missing head, tear longer than the crocks hind legs can reach;hmmmm I wonder

I had to get my dog put down today because of a brown snake. He has killed 3 so far in his short life but number 4 got him a number of times before he finished him. stayed with him till the end. sad day for me. RIP Muddy

The QLD Museum has an exhibit featuring a snake ( or was it a goanna ) that came to grief while eating an echidna. Quills jabbing out everywhere. Ouch

.
Joe, sorry to hear about Muddy. That's rotten luck.

Joe, sorry to hear of your loss. When we lose a good friend through illness, sometimes it is a blessing in a way; but to lose Muddy while (he) was defending his family is very hard on all who loved him.

best,
Doug

me of the big guy in the resturant.

Joe, sorry to hear about Muddy

The forum adds a space to long words (ie. words without spaces) after 31 characters to stop very long words from messing up the site. It's not ideal. If you have url's in posts, you should try and use the link button in the post toolbar to make your urls real links. I fixed the link in your post.

Anyway, back to the snake...
Moral to the story: don't bite off more than you can chew
