Crap seeing....

Just to make Marcus and Aidan not feel alone....after a good run of mostly acceptable to good seeing for sometime now..well, had to get a bad night eventually...ah, lovely pulsating pom poms, how nice ..of course it is perfectly clear ...ill give it another half hour or so and if it hasnt improved....hambuuurger tiiiime

Well...seeing is now ok, cool....not used to crap seeing...just a wee bit of panic before I think ...touch wood.

I feel your pain Mike. I'm running an imaging session and the FWHM readings are horrible. I keep thinking that there is something wrong with my focuser.

Well Rod, as it turns out the seeing came good and I managed 80min of good data..before the cfn predicted cloud came in from the east on cue...doh!

Oh well still time for a big fat hamburger on the way home

Seeing has been great here tonight in Colac. Just completed a sequence to do my first NB image. All the subs look really nice.

I had the wierdest sky last night. I went out at about 1:00am and the sky was crowded with stars but probably two thirds of the sky was also covered with almost transparent clouds that looked like cotton balls. Never seen that setup before. It was beautiful to see but terminal for doing anything beyond the odd oooh ahhh.

When I was walking home from the train station late night it looked like it had decent transparency towards the north but TERRIBLE over to the west. Seeing wasn't crash hot anywhere hehe

C'mon, we've had awful cloudy weather for months. Be thankful you can see any stars! Just use deconv Mike, thatll fix it

6 nights of clear skies coming up, yay! Better transfer all my laptop data to make room...

this is what I have been waiting for - its only been about 12 months!! I have to set up everytime so now I will be able to leave it up for a few nights.

got to iron out some major issues - looks like I might be able to now!
