These quiet, smooth as silk mounts can certainly punch above their 6.8k weight!
They are extremely user friendly and a joy to use. The rugged HAL aluminium tripod seems to have no weight at all when compared to tripods used by other brands, making the whole set up light and easy to take with you on dark sky trips. I believe the rated payload is 12kg.
On top of all that comes the hand controller--Star Book-- which has a large illuminated liquid display showing the night sky and celestial information.
Things are a little different with a Vixen mount. Home position is not due south where you would expect--but due east. You can navigate the skies-- not by using lists of unseen objects in a hand controller-- but by navigating the charts in Star Book. Wow!
I have two of these mounts, and one has to go. I need the money for my trip next year to the USA to watch the Solar Eclipse.
Both the mount and its tripod are in excellent condition with barely a mark and come with a full instruction book.
I have updated the Star Books firmware to the latest version. The mount does not come with an electrical transformer--you will need to buy one if you need one. It does come with a power lead and alligator clips to connect to a 12v Battery; and a battery pouch which takes 8 D type batteries for using the mount in the field.
