A much improved M45 from Snake Valley

This version is showing more potential. Not the easiest target. 4 hours in total. Combined iso800 and 1600 82 frames 180 seconds on average. There's a few 5 minute frames in there as well.

Processed with my own script and StarTools, with a slight touch up in imagemagick.

Looking good Rowland. Do I detect a little camera tilt? The stars at top left
and bottom right appear to be elongated, but not in the other two corners.

Love the details you have captured in the clouds, very nice.

Is this with one of your cooled cameras?

Cheers
Jo

Thanks Dunk Ray, Jo and Colin.

It is such a stunning area of the sky. Will spend some time ironing out the imperfections.

Ray, I note the same. I have a few things to rectify with this new set up. Mainly, supporting the camera.

Jo. It is the latest version of the series of cooled DSLRs. The detail is better than expected. unfortunately the background is undersampled and noise control has diminished the full extent of the nebulosity. It is a little clipped around the edges.

EDIT: No guiding.
