Recently I had the time to re-process some data I got back in August, when imaging M16.
I thought it would be good to compare my capture against the mighty Hubble.
Whilst it is obviously a million miles away in terms of quality, I'm still quite impressed that you can make out lots of things seen on the Hubble image.
Details (from what I remember):-
Nikon D7000 (modded) on a 10" Newtonian
NEQ6 mount
Finderguider with ASI120MC
2mins subs at ISO800 I think
Darks and bias applied, no flats.
Cheers
Bob
Yes, using HST comparisons to check what you have captured in your own data is a useful tool...I've been doing it for years..and discovered things in my data (all be they much blurrier) that I just wouldn't have noticed otherwise
Thanks Mike. It was seeing some of your comparisons that got me interested actually.
Cheers
Bob
