qhy9 first light

i managed to get a few subs on the horsehead before this storm came through
only problem was my capture software crashed and when i restarted it my gain and offset had reverted back to default without me noticing..
0 gain and 100 offset is way too low so not a lot of real faint stuff showing.

anyway, all the bugs are now ironed out and i have a set of narrowband filters arriving next week

Tonez that looks good.
great focus and well tracked.

i would suggest longer exposed subs to really bring out the finer details.
combining this with further subs with Ha filter should give you a really good luminance layer when you process.

That looks good. With my QHY9 I use a gain of 1 and an offset of 113 which gives me an ADU of ~1100 for the sky background on a 300s exposure. I keep it at -20c which is easy to reach all year round.

Image looks good. I have a QHY9C I starting to get used to on my imaging journey. If I could pull something like this out on my first go I would be over the moon (pardon the pun)

I too look forward to an image with the filters.
