Exclamation myCFN Service Launch *** BETA TESTING NOW ***

We thought we'd start a new thread about this as it is pretty much now considered a re-launch of Cloud Free Night given the amount of new features that ended up getting packed into it. So just a quick heads up about what's up coming. We're aiming for a mid October launch after we've conducted the survey.

The survey will help gather the feedback about the features on CFN and also will be a vehicle to register the members for the improved myCFN service.

Why a registration?
Because for you to customize your experience we need to provide a secure system which is not available to the general public. Your settings and information are yours and yours only.

How will I access myCFN?
An encrypted link will be emailed to you once you've completed the survey. This link will give you direct and secure access to myCFN where you'll be able to modify your preferences.

What's available in myCFN?
Improved and longer animations on Satellite (6h) and Forecast maps (240h).

Access to Real time Radar Data Australia Wide in ranges of 512km, 256km, 128km and 64km along with hours of past rain animations . (3h)

Access to higher resolution forecast maps for the first 36h in 1h intervals..
Access to 10 days worth for all forecast maps.
Access to improved blocks of animations for forecast maps: 1h increment from 1 to 36h, 3h increment from 36h to 120h and 6h increment from 120h right to 240h.

Access to hourly meteograms instead of 3h increments for the first 24h based on the higher resolution ACCESS model.
Access to extended meteograms past the first 4 days (96h) right up to 10 days ahead (240h) still in increment of 3h.

The most significant change is the ability to plot your preferred locations on the various maps (up to 10 favorites). The pins will appear on your satellite, radar and forecast maps automatically.
They will be links so clicking on a location pin will show the corresponding meteogram, selecting a radar will start the rain animation for the location.

The site is now open for beta testing so contact us if you'd like to be part of it.

Not yet Daniel, in the next week or so. I will post a link in this thread. We're still finalising questions in order to prioritise features that are important to users and what their experience has been like to date on the old public site so we can fix issues and drive further development more efficiently. Everybody's different and what might seem necessary to one person is not so useful to another, etc... but the common denominator to date seems to be customisation which is what myCFN will bring essentially to the table in a big way. So keep posted.

Looks fantastic! The first 36h map animation in high resolution is unreal
Now if only all these clouds would go away.
