NB Helix first go at colour

Hi to you all

My first real attempt at NB colour.
WO FLT 132, QSI 683.
5 x 20 min Ha, should have been 6 but a plane went right through that frame.
6 x 20 min Oiii.
PI and PS. Still not sure about what to do with the stars!

Cheers, Greg

PS my FeatherTouch Boss focuser didn't work this particular night, so manual focus. No solder on ANY of the wires in the supplied USB/SERIAL converter. How it has worked at all is a mystery.
Easy to fix next day if you are at home but a bit of a worry.

Nice work.

For star its best to shoot some short exposures in RGB for the stars and layer them in.

Greg.

Thanks Pete.

Greg, thanks for the tip. If I could image in RGB here at Curl Curl I would, but it's not likely to work with my sky glow. However I could try when the object is sill to the east as it is very dark over the ocean. I'll give it a try.

Stars are very bright and the sky glow won't matter if all you want is star colour.

Cheers,
Rick.
