M33 from QLD Astrofest

2hrs on M33
I had so much drama with this one. I had massive dark donuts that wouldn't go away, even with new flats.
Anyway, I found the dodgy subs, tossed them in the bin and it's all good now. (should have checked them first eh)
Scope 127mm triplet, Camera CDS1100D, stacked in DSS and processed in CS3.

Well you produced a pretty good shot after all the drama Jeanette. Perhaps the only other thing thing I might do is a bit of colour noise reduction on the background. Wish I could image this one myself but it's too low from Canberra.

Cheers

Steve

Yeah, I did push the data beyond it's limits.
But I'll keep these subs and keep adding to them.

That looks impressive for only 2 hours of data. It fills the screen too.

Greg.

Agree with others: great detail in the spiral arms. Well done!

Wondered if it might be a tiny bit too blue in the core, but even APOD shows the galaxy as quite blue.

Nicely resolved Jeanette, especially for a DSLR It even looks like it has its own Lagoon nebula on the lower left quadrant of the galaxy.
