Near and Far 2

I have finally given up on collecting more data on this project. The almost persistent cloud we have had for the last two months (which is a bit out of the ordinary) has negated collecting more data. At 19.5 hours there is enough data to show any IFN present and there seems to be just a little which is being illuminated by the globular.

Of note is that some of the more distant galaxies are now more detectable than the first image of the area. If I was to undertake more time next year I might be able to make those galaxies much brighter.

It's been nice to do an area which is less imaged and discover some more targets. Several galaxies in this field would be suitable for long focal length imaging. There appears to be several intriguing halos worth taking a look at in the years to come.

Wow! I can see the IFN and the deeper rendition of the distant galaxies, but the improvement in the globular is very noticeable. It's beautiful.

A great field Paul!the glob stands out beautifully with great contrast!my monitor must be calibrated a bit dark because I can't see the IFN at all.

The interacting galaxies look great with good detail and colour...awesome

Surprised you've got any data at all given the weather SA has been having. I didn't see the first version but this one is beautiful. Terrific resolution of the globular and the galaxies look great.

Cheers

That glob is superb Paul, and your right about the long focal length targets in there.
Really nice photo on all counts.

Lovely field with some really nice galaxies thrown in the mix. The background on the right side is definitely lighter than the left side of the image. Without knowing what it would I would have just assumed it was a gradient

that's a point - where did you find some sky?

Its a lovely image Paul, the glob is beautifully defined, the galaxy group looks spectacular and the composition is pleasing to the eye.

Thanks guys for the comments. Steve it has been raining cats and dogs here with lots of cloud. It's been a battle.

Thanks Ray. Its an hour here and a couple of hours there, a couple of all nighters. All up it is 12 imaging runs. I started on the 14th of May and have been lucky to pick up the data I needed. This year has seen a higher than average amount of cloud so mega data images are hard to complete. I have noted that whilst cloud is often funnelled up the gulfs it can seem to miss Clayton regularly. I have another data set I am trying to complete prior to setting for the year. An area not seen before I think.

I think I have come back to this image 50 times... Says something!
Reckon you could do the whole sky like that?

Thanks Rolf, I am finally starting to get into some of the more off the beaten track targets on my list now. Though I suspect I'll have to do a few of the more well trodden ones yet with the long focal length that I have never done. Just ticking off the boxes as it were.

Thanks Rom! I never know what sort of impact each image I produce has on the viewer. Sometimes it is a hit and sometimes it is a miss. Nice that you think it worthy of revisiting that often.
