Another C/2013 X1 (PanSTARRS) and the Helix Nebula

The weather just cleared in time to get the conjunction of 2013 X1 and the Helix Nebula. Taken out the bedroom window.

Wow, a fantastic catch Kevin. Completely clouded out down here, so I am glad you were successful. Thanks for sharing your image.

Cheers

Kevin,

I agree with others, a good shot considering how low the objects were.

Pretty well impossible from Melbourne.

Are you sure about the time?

I calculate the image was around UTC 16:00, which would be around 02:00 am.

Thanks Colin. I am glad to have this window. Just threw the air conditioner out of it last week.

Thanks Paul. The time might be a bit early as that was session start and I didn't use all the subs. But 16:00 is too late as the altitude is too high for the window. Session end would probably be around 15:40 UT.

How about that eh. Fantastic composition. It must have only been in that position for a few hours.

Greg.
Thanks Greg. Yes it was pretty much just this morning. Tonight the comet has moved over 1 degree and 40 minutes away from the Helix. Still in view of wide field scopes.
