Eta Carina RGB (with complementary blue halos)

Took this as a test a little while back, before I fixed the flexure in my imaging train. Took this mostly as a test for practice in processing out blue halos caused by the incredible sensitivity of the 694 chip.
Kinda figuring out how to reduce the blue halos but it is damaging the blue stars as well so I still have a lot more to learn.

I did try doing a decon on the blue data but it ended up just damaging the stars more than removing the halos so I gave up on that idea. Data I just keep revisiting to test out different processing ideas.

10x120s RGB taken from my Red Zone location of Melbourne

Nasty High Res

Suggestions welcome. I know Peter is quite happy with his Astronomic Blue filter which as a cut at 420nm, that seems to have helped him with his TEC.

Very good considering it's taken from the 'red zone'. And always good to revisit old data and experiment with new techniques, about all we can do in this weather

A fine result considering the exposure time Colin.

I think this is where the sensitivity of the ICX694 chip comes in handy, peaks at 77% QE so there isn't too much that it doesn't grab. Sticks above 60% from UV into IR. The weather has been shocking! Checking the forecast though it looks like Saturday night MIGHT be okay. Got my fingers crossed.

I know The Astrodon blue filter has a cut at 400nm where as there are others than cut at 420nm which would help reduce the halo. the ICX694 chip is just so sensitive that from what I've been able to read, it is a problem with a considerable number of triplet refractors (even some very well corrected ones).
