Had a hankering for some time to build a Travel Scope, something that can be packed down small and re-assembled with struts to be useful on trips away so I've just picked up one of the 6" F5 mirror sets that were advertised on here. One idea is to have an easily demountable mirror cell that is self contained, adjustments etc because I'd also like to try another astrograph build. The 8F8 is great but it's a monster in the Ob so an f5 solid tube is a secondary project and be able to switch the cell between the two. I'll go for one of the new ZWO 1600 cooled cameras soon as well to complete the system. The travel scope design will be open struts so not suitable for on the mount. I'll try to remember to take more pix this time in case anyone is interested.
