Pillow Block 1.5" bearings

I am fabricating an equatorial mount, and would like to know where I can purchase pillow block mounts to take a 1.5 inch shaft? Clear skies, Michael (Warrnambool, Victoria}

Hi Michael,

I found my 2" Pillow Blocks from ebay and came from Boltons??? in the UK. Make sure you don't mix metric and Imperial measurements,.

Bought Precision SS Shafts from

http://www.linearbearings.com.au/pro...-steel-shafts/

Not cheap but perfect if you haven't got shafts.

Nice project...can be a s simple or complicated as you want, I went for complicated

Matt

Thank you Matt. Today I have purchased the BYERS 10" drive (the expense item) to start the project.

Pillow block bearings also come in different types depending on what type of load you are going to put on it. Lighter loads can be handled by ball bearing types but on an old fork mount I rebuilt I used Dodge tapered roller bearings. The 3 1/2" bearings on the RA easily handle the 200kg+ load of forks & tube. I also bought them on eBay. I had to wait for a few months to get the right buy.
