NGC2903 in Leo

A nice barred spiral in HaLRGB.

Captured at SRO, 6 Feb - 29 Mar, 2016

Scope: Ceravolo C300 @ f/4.9 = 1470mm FL
Mount: AP1100
Camera: FLI PL16803
Focuser: Atlas
Filters: Astrodon
Guiding: Lodestar II / Tak guide scope
Image scale: 1.26 arcsec/pixel (0.843 arcsec/pixel after Drizzle/resample)
Exposures: 38x600s L, 22x1200s R, 14x1200s G, 22x1200s B, 13x1800s Ha (~32 hours)
Processing: PixInsight 1.8

Acquisition credit: John Kasianowicz, Daniele Malleo, Leonardo Orazi, Rob Pfile, Rick Stevenson and Jerry Yesavage.

Thanks for looking. The full field is worth exploring. There are some lovely little galaxies (some examples in the attached crop.)

Fantastic image Rick, so many faint and not so many faint galaxies in the background. The galaxy is nicely resolved. The stars in general to me a reminiscent of the Jewel Box Cluster

That was a fun few minutes I had scanning the full res image lot's of interesting background galaxies.

A lovely wide, deep and very fine galaxy field image

Absolutely beautiful Rick, heaps of different styles of galaxies and the star colour is perfect with lots of variety.

I agree, that B&W shot of a tiny fuzzy patch has been there for a while now ....

Wonderful shot Rick. Love the subtle and honest background, but the galaxies whack you in the mouth like a frozen mullet. (that's a compliment )
