Hi All,
I was out with my neighbour last night and had a bit of time to get some shots of the Carina. The single subs look quite good, but I am struggling with stacking them to really get the most out of the RAW images. I am trying to use DSS but I can never seem to get any good result with it, and I have tried you tubing it, and still don't seem to have much luck. I have had to resort to stacking in CS6, which is ok, but I know there is more in this.
Anyway after that long spiel, here is my first attempt, and I would appreciate some feedback.
The reason for the watermark is that I have had people use my photos as there own in the past, so I would rather have something there. Its not everyones cup of tea and thats understandable.

Reason: Poor grammar
I don't wish to seem unsympathetic, but I'm going to assume that as you are
posting in the beginners' section, that your previously stolen images were
not astro images. If that is so, why would someone use your astro images
when they can go to the main forum, and find stunning top quality images there?

that was my point as well, not denigrating the photo it is good but no one would bother "stealing" it as there are millions of similar photos everywhere online, yours although nice is not unique. Intrusive watermarks are a huge distraction and I get put off looking at anything by that person again. No offence to you.
Looks great to me, with a result like that I wouldn't bother with DSS!
How do we know you took that image? ( Just kidding! ) but I think the point about watermarks on astro photos is that there are so many out there on the WWW that most of us don't seem to care how they are shared. If you want to stake claim to your image, that's your choice and fine by me.
Still, it's a nice clean sharp image and I'd be proud of something that good - well done!
If you are worried about plagiarism, drop the density so the image can never be ss good as yours.
You also have provenance.
Your pic is a little soft but quit well executed. The watermark is ovwrdone
