NGC 5965 and friends
Hi!
As my first image posted here, i want to show you a picture of NGC 5965 in constellation Draco.
It is a big spiral galaxy, which we see nearly from the edge. NGC 5963 in the neighborhood is about 4-5 times nearer than NGC 5965, so it has to be a much smaller galaxy.
NGC 5971 on the left side shows some signs of interaction with another galaxy.
The image was taken at the Gahberg observatory, Upper Austria, with a 10" f/4 Newtonian for Luminance and a 5" f/5 Newtonian for RGB at the same time.

Best regards, Markus

Wonderful image Markus. This is one that really has to be looked at in full resolution to appreciate just how good it is. Well done.

Lovely galaxy group image Markus
I love the proper motion animation you created -
check this out everyone
aaand...it would seem we have something in common
...we have both been involved with the discovery of little faint galaxies

Hello Lee, Colin, Geoff, Rick, Peter, Mike and Michael!
Wow, so much response, thank you very much!
Rick, NGC 5971 should be an ideal object for long focal lenght!
Michael, the proper motion animation is based on thinking about "what should we do with our old images?" :-)
We have a project here in Europe called "TBG" which means something like
"long exposed galaxies" . Of course I noticed the NGC 253 image... :-) great work!
Best regards, Markus
