Saturn try #2

Ok, so after try #1 got washed out on Tuesday morning by the first rain in months, I thought I'd tempt fate and try again today...

But, no luck. Try #2 was also a failure :-( Sorry, no pictures, just a rant to vent some spleen :-)

Had the scope set up all night, everything looked fine at 4am when I went down to start imaging - but then my electronic focusser did one of those reset-to-factory-defaults things and stopped working. By the time I realised what the heck was going on a pea-soup fog had rolled in and stayed around until sunrise. lol!

Amusingly, the factory defaults mean that the encoder was read *backwards* and at 2x the resolution, so the controller insisted that the drawtube was going inward when it was atually going out, and vice versa.

To add insult to injury I had to boot to Windows to run the JMI program that fixes this.

Argh!

Oh well, maybe 3rd time lucky??
