Unfortunately the weather hasn't been great to do any type of imaging despite being in near drought conditions.
Fortunately enough, I was able to get one decent night out imaging galaxy M83. I only caught sbout 40 minutes of Luminance and 20 minutes through RGB filters. Hopefully I get some more clear skies soon to finish this image off.
Apart from the stars, I'm some what happy with the results, despite capturing little data.
Telescope used: GSO RC 10
Native Focal length: 2000mm w/ Astrophysics 0.67x focal reducer. Focal Length reduced to 1340mm.
Camera: QSI 683 WSG w/ Lodestar for OAG (off axis guiding) Maxim DL used was used for auto-guiding.
Camera Temperature: -20 degrees
Camera filters & exposure time:
1.25" Baader LRGB
Mount: Losmandy G-11 w/ Gemini 2
Nice one Stefan. Great field for it. Just right. Some good details in there. I'm looking forward to do a close up on this one as well. All I ever shot was with an 80mm f/5 refractor and at that FL it looks like a fly on the wall. Guiding's easier though.

Unfortunately I've had no more clear nights since my posting. I guess that's why they call New Zealand the land of the long white cloud!!
I stay up during any imaging session, so I'm awake nearly all night! It's probably not great on the body, but I'm only 24 so I'll live
That's nice and detailed Stefan. I experimented with it a bit and found that you can bring up the outer regions of the galaxy quite nicely with a bit more push.
