I am loaning my FS-78 to a work colleague (trusted) as a bit of intro into Astronomy. what FL eyepiece would be recommended to maximise the experience with this size scope?

5-7mm for Solar System targets & planetary nebs
16mm for everything else.
If it has to be one, 16mm. The wider the better.

On second thought - if it's for an intro (where you want maximum impact that doesn't need much explaining), low power richfield might be better, in which case something around 32mm might be best. Will also provide great full disk views of the Moon (perfect phase the next few days), but the 16 will do that as well.
