Sad day...

I just saw them perform, last March, at Hope Winery estates in the Hunter Valley. That is truly a tragic loss to the music industry.

As others have said, Glen Frey and the Eagles make up a large part of the soundtrack of my youth...

This has been a hard start to 2016 with some great talent lost...Glen Frey, David Bowie, Alan Rickman and even Dan Haggerty (Grizzly Adams))...RIP all

Its been a bad month to be a guy in your late sixtys. While I love the Eagles with the early years lineup, it's really just been a money machine for Frey and Henley for a couple of decades now (since the reunion and later lineup) - not that I really begrudge them that sort of success. The real Eagles go back to Linda Rondstat's backing band days (Linda is another sad story), when other founding members like Randy Meisner (Bass) was a big part of the band. Meisner wrote "Take it to the Limit" and Bernie Leadon who was responsible for the 'blue grass' sound to much of the early Eagles work.

RIP Glenn Frey, the music will live on.

Sad loss. I still have all the Eagles tracks on a memory stick in my car. At least he will be remembered.

Sad to see another great performer depart. I was lucky enough to see Glen Frey perform with the Little River Band here in Launceston. I bought the Hell Freezes Over DVD a few years ago, an unbelievably good recording and performance, shows just how talented the members were.
