30 mins of sculptor and a bit of horsing around

Spent last evening trying out the CCD again
The camera is a bit of a learning curve and I'm trying to find out what it can do as a base line before I try to tinker
So here's a couple from last night

Nice work Jenny!

After the news about that newly discovered galaxy near Sculptor I went look through my old pics trying to find it. Alas it was out of frame. It think it's off the left hand side of your pic probably

Please excuse my ignorance. I thought CCD cameras were cooled, and
hence not as noisy as DSLRs, so why are these images noisy?

Because they are only 30 mins exposure through a mediocre sky.

Hey Jen, some flat field images would be a big boost to these images, there are a few dust motes visible. how many subs and and at what temp was this collected ?

-10.. 4x5 1x10 lights.
I was taking shots all over the place to see what was best for colour and intensity.

M1 was a failure due to a lot of blue in the pic which I think is lp from the local town.
Tracking was very good with overal rms of .19
