Jupiter to bright

I am not sure what to do with my settings. Will try to lower the exposure time but even when looking it live on the laptop Jupiter looks like a white fire ball.

I am using the lp guider

welcome to the boards

you will need to either reduce the gain or reduce the exposure time. what software are you using to capture? you should be able to change the settings so that it is not overblown.

Hi thanks, I appreciate your help on this one . I am just using the sofware that came with the camera ToupSky. It looks pretty neat to me but I don't know anything else.

Whats a good free/open source option for imaging ?

Cheers

so there are 2 sliders there Exposure and gain that you can work with to get a good image, you could also try ticking the Auto exposure box and see how it goes.
