eBay you hafta laugh

Often when I see an item of interest on eBay the bidding goes to around, or slightly higher than, the RRP, but this one takes the cake. Last week I watched a second hand Manfrotto head model 141RC which went for a staggering $173.50 plus $8.00 postage. RRP for the same item at Photo Continental in Brisbane is $103 and Camera House has that head on a 190CLB tripod for $249 (the tripod without head alone is $200+). Makes you wonder how people can buy at online auctions without doing their homework.

buy/sell ebayers often don't have a clue what there bidding on
its all about speculation that your purchase can be sold on for a profit

A friends sister recently bought a boat on ebay .. it was a completely useless hull and had a broken down 75 chrisler on the back..
( most outboard mechanics won't work on them anyway)
So what did she do with this lemon ?.. put it back on ebay and sell it to
another fool who drove 600 kms to pick it up !!!!.. LOL

It is amazing how many people just see something and must have it and will just keep bidding. I have bought a few items myself and must admit it is very easy to be swept up in the excitement, I also have a guideline to never exceed 80% of the original price including the postage.
Phil has the right train of thought, do your homework first, there are some great bargains to be found.

cheers

I buy dvd's at big w on special for $8.83 go home and watch them and sell them on ebay at a starting bid of $10.00 or more and always get bidders. But on the flip side my kids go mad and get involved in bidding frenzies.
