Kenny,
Normally the exposures are so short that there's no issue stacking with Registax 5 (I prefer 5 to the later version 6) or Autostakkert 2.
Which camera are you using?
A fast frame mono is certainly the best tool.

Hi Ken, I'm using a ZWO 174MMM, when I get to the last step it is rejecting all of the imagines, if I change the setting i get a image that is half white half black.

I found that Registax 6 didn't like the AVI's that my Chameleon 3 camera produced. Couldn't cope with any of the codecs I tried.
So I can just switch the camera software to produce BMP files instead and just stack those or use PIPP to convert the AVI frames into BMPs.

Cheers

Malcolm

Kenny,
Which codec are you using?
How many frames in the AVI?
I haven't yet tried the ASI174, but it is a favourite for the solar imagers...
What ever the issue/ problem I'm 100% sure is not a major one and can be fixed.
Ken

Thanks guys, sorry for the late reply had Xmas commitments. I installed registax v5 and it has resolved the problem somewhat. It is still rejecting a lot of pictures o I need to do a bit more playing. I'll try it on a tracking mount and see if the helps.

Hope the new year brings you clear sky's.
