Deep Sky Stacker

Hi,

I just noticed an application called Deep Sky Stacker listed in the October Sky & Telescope. It is free software and claims to do stacking of DSLR native RAW formats. It can be downloaded from: http://deepskystacker.free.fr

Had anyone got any experience with this software, I hadn't heard of it before today?

Matt

It's only for DSLR's. Us Toucam, Meade DSI etc people can't use it.

Hi
downloaded it
had a quick play with it.
I obviously havent learned all its intricacies but so far I'm excited.

Nice little piece of software me thinks
I initially thought it would take all night to process (might I suppose if you put enough RAWs into it).
As a rough sample I stacked about 10 RAWs and a dark and it seemed to process them in about 5-7 minutes (as I said I was only playing with it dint time everything etc)
but pretty fast
I use a 2.8 P4 Intel Pentium with 1 gig RAM

I'll be spending more time with it, worth the download i think
cheers

ok I've tried it a few times and it seems to work nicely
I still havent mastered its finer abilities (heaps of options I dont even understand but that's due to my lack of knowledge nothing else)
nice and fast
cheers
