Venus with 174mm and 12.5"

Hi everyone,

Got a bit of a first light this morning with my new ZWO 174mm camera and the 12.5" with 5 x Powermate and extension tubes. It was used with an IR block and W47 filter, and there is just a hint of variation in the cloud structure of Venus but it's very faint as conditions were not great.

3000 frames stacked and processed in AS2 and CS3.

Some capture stats:

Profile=Venus
Diameter=15.16"
Magnitude=-4.10
FocalLength=12750mm
Resolution=0.09"
Frames captured=20247
FPS (avg.)=46

Clear skies,

John K.

Nice first light John, you must be pleased with that.

The title of your post had me puzzled at first until I realised 174mm was the camera model, not your aperture in mm!

Cheers

Dennis
