It's Widefield Time!

Following on from Greg's excellent post, I thought I'd show you my, albeit limited, results from last weekend. For this image I only salvaged TWO subs out of TEN due to data storage/corruption issues, Grrrrrrr.

This shot was taken with a mid-priced Canon 85mm lens at F4, mounted to the Sony A7s, 2 by 4 minute subs @ ISO3200, on a rather under-utilised Software Bisque MyT mount!

Much better shots of other targets to come. But I love the scale revealed by the lens, quite refeshing to go 'further out' for a change, putting things into context with their surrounds.

Yeah, I got the heavy Saturation stick out on the stars, some surprising colours extracted.

Hey, not too bad Simon, well done. I keep thinking about doing some tracked DSLR with lens work...one day

So your mount was overloaded I gather..?

Thanks Mike, yes it's a refreshing change and just as challenging in some ways, esp composition wise. Have some much better results pumping thru the processing pipeline. Having more than 2 subs helps!

That's a great image Simon. The 85mm lens looks to be performing well. I'm looking forward to seeing more images from this lens.

Definitely needs a couple more subs, Simon. With three you could at least run a rejection algorithm Still, a promising result.
