Outlook trashed by MS update

I did the usual downloads today, a couple of dozen of them half of which were for MS Office programs. Nothing too unusual about that. After the download and install, had the mandatory reboot, so far so good. Tried to open my Outlook 2010 it came up for around 5 secs and disappeared. Tried another reboot and it did the same. Good old Microsoft have totally stuffed this one up, had to do a system restore to get Outlook running again. So be very wary about downloading the current crop of updates especially for Office, something in there was totally screwy. I am running Office 2010, maybe it was just this iteration, but who knows what MS can stuff up

Apparently this KB is the culprit. kb3097877

Seems to be a widespread problem: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/11...uggy_ms_patch/

The article mentions that uninstalling the offending patch may fix your Outlook.

Oh yes, the Apple hard crash, that's a shock when you loose all your saved videos on your device.
Recently I also lost all my Apple Bookmark Tabs when I synchronised iCloud with my Outlook on my PC.

Gaud, im not even game to try that cloud thing!. And if you loose copyright music on iapple, and you have replaced your PC, thats another world of pain, dont get me started. I think the trick is not to let anything Apple (hardware or software) remotely close to a PC. The mix of "Apple bookmark tabs", icloud and outlook sounds like a perfect storm disaster waiting to happen

Thanks for the link, Rick.
I had one email that crashed Outlook every time I tried to open it, and uninstalling the said update fixed the problem.
