Ebay & PayPal

Having been forced into a very early retirement due to a degenerative neurological condition and blindness, I stumbled, I stumble a lot, lol. In any case, I found myself using Ebay and PayPal as I can't drive so all my shopping is done electronically.
Its now been about 8 months since I started using Ebay and PayPal frequently. This week I discovered to my absolute delight that my status with Ebay had changed. The moment a Buyer sends payment, those funds become available immediately via my PayPal account. This is really useful and though I hadn't set out to create a trading business it would be short sighted of me not to take advantage of this status and begin Trading with more vigor.
Given that until this point I have only used Ebay for disposing of items I no longer needed, I am considering the potential offered by Ebay and the opportunities that may exist for building a modest trading house.
It is an intriguing notion and in fact quite an exciting notion.
I was wondering who else has had a similar experience? Have you built on your initial sales? What are your experiences, either good or bad, in extending your trading via: Ebay and PayPal?

I did trade a little on eBay/PP but with all the fees I got tired of it.
However, I have been known to buy and sell a few things here on IIS
Some people try before they buy, I buy then try....... No profit in it though

Sorry your health is giving you trouble David. Retirement is not all bad though!

I have to agree, the fees are ridiculous. I have increased my prices to reflect though so I recover most.

I think now the split in the structure means that it is not compulsory to trade with PayPal on eBay.

It is convenient and I like the buyer protection feature, bit like insurance and has worked well for me in the past.

None the less it is a very interesting opportunity. I confess I enjoy the sourcing of product and I believe this may be a good opportunity to get re-acquainted with Buying & Selling. Though given my track record with Astro gear, I think there maybe a lot of Buying and Bugger-all selling.
