Introduction to Spectroscopy

I've been thinking about doing a bit of spectroscopy. I've got an 8" RC with a 1.25" filter-wheel (Orion Nautilus 7 filter). Camera is the Atik 314L+. Otherwise I could just use it without the filter wheel.

Would the Star Analyser 200 grating work suitably with what I have?

Matt,
If you want to try with the grating fitted to the filter wheel, the limited back focus really means the SA200 is the way to go.
If you can get a spacing of 60-80mm between the grating and the CCD chip then the SA100 would work just as well.
I use the ATik 314L for spectroscopy - a great work horse.
When you're ready let me know I can supply some ideas for processing software etc.
