Pointing issues?

Just getting back into AP and have my scope up and polar aligned to with in 2 arc seconds on both axis. This is close enough for me to put rig through its paces but for some reason when I tell it to slew to Alpha Cen it slews to the other side of the meridian. If I do a closed loop slew, the image solves but when I re-centers it turns north instead of south.

Obvious things I've checked:

Yes Gps coordinates are correct.
Yes time is correct.
Yes time zone is correct.

What am I missing here?

You're missing reminding us about what equipment yor are using P

Are you driving the g2 by computer or hand controller

Sorted the battery in the Gemini was dead so the date kept reverting back to 2014
