Helix in Ha

Hi Guys.

This is my first time imaging with my GSO RC8. I recently installed a Robofocus focuser on it so can now get relatively fharper focus.

I quickly setup my equipment.
My polar aligment was off by over a minute in both Mel and Maz but PHd did a decent job in tracking.

I took 10 x 800 sec subs +
1 x 1200sec sub in H-alpha
stacked in Deep sky stacker
levels and curves adjusted in Photoshop CS6.

something went wrong when I switched to O3 and tracking was not working well. I have included 1 raw sub showing poor tracking.
I think it is because my Heq5 Pro is over loaded.

Equipment:
Heq5 pro mount
GSO RC8
QSI 683wsg-8
Televue flattener
separate guide scope

All comments on where my weak points are and how to improve would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

John

hi John,

The Ha, looks pretty good to me!
not sure what has happened with your O3 sub. perhaps bumped or lost the guide star?

Thanks Russel.

there was a problem with guidance.

PHd. couldnt track well and was losing the guide star every couple of seconds then lock back onto it. it was very periodical and strange.

Hi Michael.

Thanks for the compliment.
I am glad you like it.

I hope to add O3 data followed by RGB for star colour.
I will post it up one I have it all captured. Just not until I come back from China in 2 weeks time.
