3D printer is useful here as well.. especially for relatively complicated shapes that do not require high precision of manufacture (<0.1mm).
The cog will move the threaded ring, and that one will control the iris via longish (~50mm) arm - I couldn't use the original one without serious alterations, so I decided to make a new one.
The conversion to EOS is pretty much finished... after a lot of measurements, experimenting with various mechanism designs (and ~10 metres of filament), then gluing (with acetone) parts together - this is the result.
I know it could have been done better, especially the black part (it is somewhat flimsy.. the new design is already on the HD).
The only thing still missing is focus confirmation chip - I will glue it in place later today.
