C/2013 US10 Catalina from Astrofest

My first time playing with a comet. I tried various combinations at astrofest including some 3minute subs guiding on the comet, a few 60 second subs guiding on stars and combined them in all sorts of weird and wonderful ways.

Below are two attempts at processing, the one with sharp stars involved a little photoshop cheating but hey I'm no saint :-)

Larger versions are available here:
Startrails 6.8MB
Sharp stars 3.7MB

I also learnt that guiding on a comet works right up until the point where the comet passes a star.

Comet Catalina's path

The Guide 9 map below shows Comet Catalina at 7pm tonight and its path for the next 20 days. The zenith is up. The comet is about 15 degrees from omega Cen = NGC 5139 tonight.

That would be useful.

Except I just moved to the most light polluted part of the world.
And it's always cloudy.
And the telescope is at home.

Would love to but I've only a few images left from Astrofest until I've exhausted my supply of data with a bleak outlook on future imaging prospects
