Distruction manual

OK, l'm almost there, I have a good GEM mount with go-to and a good (so I was told by the salesman so it must be true) 130 mm triplet. Yesterday I paid a visit to Michaels in Melbourne and bought a Canon 700d body at a reasonable price of $550 after cash back.
I have for the past ten years been visual only but as the years wear on the eyes wear down and I have decided to get into this photography lark.
My computer skills (Que?) are towards the lower end of zero and I know that these will need some improvement (a little under statement) but first I would like to purchase a book which sets out to educate a dumbbell in this mysterious art form.
Would somebody like to suggest a couple of books for me bearing in mind that l do have reasonable kit purchased over the years but am not being modest about my skill level in photography or processing of images.
Thanks for any input people may care to make.

Being as you are taking the usual road into AP, the book for you is
"Digital SLR Astrophotography" by Michael Covington. Chock a block
full of information relevant to your needs.
