I recently acquired a Sirius Observatories 2.3 dome

and also an incredibly sturdy steel pier. It would without doubt be already bolted to the base were it not for the fact that the pier is a little too short for the walls of the observatory to allow me to see below about 30 degrees.
As you can see from the photos it needs a little TLC - easily done and it will be perfect for anyone who doesn't need the height I need.
It stands at 96 cms tall to the top of the rack plate (the top one in the picture). It was originally for a SCT used visually only. You will presumably need to have the top plate modified to suit your mount.
As you can also see it comes with a very strong and useful wooden table around it that can be removed if need be. The black tables shown around it come with it but again totally optional - they are not attached.
A pier of this size and strength would almost certainly set you back close to $1000. I'm happy to accept $500 to anyone who wants to collect it from Nundah.
