I just received this Canon Powershot S110 from E_ri_k who advertised it last week.
Below is 2 photos of a resupinate fungi.
1 - 18MP Canon EOS600D and Sigma 70mm macro lens.
2 - 12MP Powershot S110 on macro setting.
It wont replace the dSLR, but it's good to know I can use my pocket camera as the need arises without to much concern for quality. It shoots RAW, has 24~120 zoom, touch screen control, and all the usual manual and auto settings beside the program and scene settings.
Very happy with it. But it is harder to learn to drive than the SLR, and the manual is PDF of over 300 pages. PDF books are annoying.
Looks good Trevor nice close ups. I recall shooting a close up of a grasshopper, and I was surprised how well it turned out. It's good to have something good which fits in your pocket!
It's not a bad result Erik. I have since put it to the test and very happy with the result.
Thx Brian.
It is so hand to have in the pocket over the SLR (which is always in the car with me, but.... )

This is a few of the results from it's first proper outing.
The last photo was the 'money shot' for me. Macro setting on this plant. The depth of field is so much better than the APS-C sensor.
