Issues with illuminated reticles

I have an Orin 12.5mm Illuminated reticle eyepiece. I also have an Orion 9x50 Illuminated Reticle RACI Finder. Both use the same screw in red LED illuminator and neither one works now. I have replaced the batteries but nada!
Anyone else had issues with these and is there a better option?

Cheers

Malcolm

Have a close look for a light coating of corrosive substance inside. This can happen if not used for a while.
