Humble M42

Gday , feel a bit awkward posting this with all the top activity going around here but here's a plug for shameless mediocrity First go of the year for M42 15 x 85sec 800iso {D70+OrionED} 15darks/10flats.My primary target was the Horsehead but PEC/autoguiding dramas had me pinned for 90 sec exposures Im surprised I got this at all last night , couldn't get to sleep and got up about midnight and set everything up for some imaging even though i've spent most of the week just enjoying visual observing {with newly acquired Starry night pro }

Nice one Stuart. I hope its a sign of things to come for you and we get to see a lot more DSOs from you.

Kearn, the formula is called the Drake equation and is supposed to calculate the number of intellegent communicating civilizations there are in the galaxy.

Stuart, you're too modest.
It's a lovely image with beautiful colour and like gary said, it wasn't too long ago that the big boys were getting images like this.
It's gonna be a great season.
Looking forward to more from you champ.
